Real authentic mexican food. Casual atmosphere and warm and friendly staff. Thier tamales were excellent especially the pork ones.

Love this place and so does my two young boys. The crispy tacos are our favorite. Friendly staff. Excellent Mexican food!

This restaurant is unique. Each dish either has layers of flavor which excite your taste buds or a simple dish with great execution in creation. Also the ingredients are fresh so you taste the difference.

You'll get a warm welcome and great food at this small grocery cum restaurant. Everything made from scratch, and you can customize anything on the menu.This is a regular weekly so on our dining rota.You're not going to find typical American style bean and cheese tacos and burritos... Food here will be much closer to what you'd actually find in Mexico than at Taco Bell, so don't be one of those complainers who come in looking for the latter.

So incredibly delicious! I got the tostada with chipotle chicken, it was so fresh and tasty. The guacamole was one of the best I've ever had. I'll definitely be coming back again!8/02/19 - UPDATE - unfortunately I had to knock off 2 stars, because although this place is delicious, I do not appreciate being scammed or lied to. I usually order spicy guacamole and they obviously left out the jalepenos and it was not spicy at all and when I mentioned to them, the woman cooking said, "well sometimes jalepenos are just not hot". I am 100% sure, she simply just forgot to add them. The guacamole is not cheap and when they make it wrong, they should admit it and offer to make it correctly. It was not the owner cooking tonight, so I am sure she will not be pleased to hear this. The portions of guacamole are also getting smaller..

Tacos great but burritos not so much

The food, the food, and the food! Ok, a pretty place to eat the food, the food and the food.

I eat in this nice place quite a bit! This is my favorite place to eat. I visit this spot many times. The cooking is great, the staff is polite and the charge is good. I like being in this place for a decent lunch.

Small portions of very tasty, homemade food, as in, not fast food. You have to wait because they cook it from scratch. You can either sit at a cute, tiled table or at the counter by the cooks. Their spicy pork tamales are really delicious. Just watch out for bones! There are also shelves of select grocery items for purchase.

Food is Aithentic , Delicious with courteous service. The only downside for me being a vegetarian, the place had strong smell of meat ! But that is a limitation with me - not with the place !

My husband and I absolutely love the food here. The place on the outside looks unassuming so this is definitely a hidden gem. The food is always fresh and authentic! I personally love the chicken and shrimp tacos! I always add an order of chips and spicy guacamole because it's my favorite! Tacos and guacamole are my kryptonite. My husband loves their burritos! They wrap the burrito tight so it's not so messy when it you eat it & full of flavor. We normally order this food as take out. They have a very small area inside with a few tables that you can eat at if you desire. I highly recommend to all of my Mexican food lovers!

Always have a great meal here. Gave 3 stars because the staff are not very good over the phone and hard to understand at times. The wait time can be very long too even on an "off" night. They say 20 mins over the phone for an order yet when I get there, I end up standing there for at least another 15 until my order is ready

This is the best Mexican restaurant in all of New Jersey! Delicious food, quick preparation, friendly service, colorful decor - it's fun and super appetizing at the same time! I totally recommend for all those who desire an authentic, freshly prepared, flavorful meal! I just couldn't get enough!

Great authentic Mexican

The smell of cooked beef and chicken overwhelms you when you open the door. Makes it hard to decide what to order. It was very good.

This place has been in my neighborhood for a few years now and I kept meaning to get there. So glad I finally did. My lunch buddy had chicken enchiladas, which I tasted. The sauce is awesome. Great portions too. I had a chicken burrito. It was also delicious and so fresh. Even though everything is mixed together, I could taste separate flavors and the nice blend. It was huge but I took my time and ate it all. It was that good. The bonus side salad was also great.

I love the place, the food and the people working there. They have real mexican food and treats that bring me back to my childhood. Great place to eat and a great place for a nice chat with the staff

Possibly the best Mexican food in central jersey

Great place for authentic Mexican tacos in Hillsborough. simple and affordable for the 3 taco special. Meats were appropriately marinated and reminded me of typical Mexican food from Mexico.

This place is absolutely brilliant. The food was great and very accommodating for vegetarians. Pictured with this review is my burrito and 'salad'. Filling meal.

Awesome authentic Mexican food, delicious and VERY affordable. I've been coming here for years and it's still some of the best Taco's I've had. Highly recommend the Al Pastor, Carnitas, and Chorizo tacos. Also the Tortas (Mexican sandwiches) are super good and very filling.

The owner is very helpful when choosing what to order. Fresh home made chips, real authentic Mexican food, fresh baked cakes, reasonable prices. We would definitely return next time we are in town.

Delicious food. Wonderful atmosphere with great music the entire time. Humble and cozy setting indeed… made me miss Mexico. The owner is very sweet, as are the employees. Everything is made fresh. On the walls you can see the restaurant's achievements, which includes being featured by the star ledger and being recommended on trip advisor. Highly recommend.

The best mexican food around.

always good food, but once random day i spilled my coffee and asked to get refill i got the nod so i assumed it was okay, the next day i went to pick up my food_ which i paid for, always bought food and tipped, and the owner was giving me wierd stares.owner was convinced that i stole so gave me wierd looks and told me she was "the devil" to scare me or somethingi explained my situation and told my mexican friend to explian the situation since he was with me.spent at least $200 worth of food there, so i don't understand why i was treated that waykept coming back for more food, and owner still gave me wierd passive agreesive sarcasm as if i was going to "steal" since then been too infuriated to come back. never giving money to this place again due to mistreatment

To be honest I been to many Mexican restaurant (tex mex and authentic) the portions are way too small for their price. Usually enchiladas come with rice and beens, they served you only 4 with sauce for $10! I had to ask for rice separately and didn’t taste fresh. Most mexican restaurants serve you chips and salsa while you wait, they charged $5. And was not impressed with the service, way too slow. We got a order of tacos, enchiladas and croquetas.. 2 drinks 1 coffee (that was not fresh at all) and the ships and that was $50!!!! Never paid that much for that little food in a mex restaurant. If you want to try authentic Mex food- go to “El Oxaqueño 2” in New Brunswick! It’s a small place (most people order to take out) is opened until 3am and the food is so good (Tacos arabe, the beat tacos ever). you will definitely get your free chips with 3 different salsas there! Or there is another place 5min from this one, and is called “Family Mexican Grill” my mom said is way better and faster.

Best Mexican food food ever!

Not even remotely what I was expecting, and not in a good way. The meats are bland and tasteless, the food is just haphazardly thrown together. The portions are tiny. The crispy tortillas are burned to the point of inedibility... but overall the lack of flavor is astounding. I hate crazes like this where people go “oooh, but it’s authentic,” yeah it’s authentically bad.

Some of the most authentic and delicious Mexican food I've ever eaten. The atmosphere and decor makes you feel like you walked right into a little family owned shop in Oaxaca. My favorite are the Chorizo tacos, which are pleasantly spicy and delicious. I also would recommend the burritos or the quesadillas, but really any and all of the food is good. The ladies behind the counter do a fantastic job and it pays to know a little Spanish!
